Our Dr. David is a published author! His article appeared in the “Perspectives: Ethical Moment” in the May 2010 issue of the Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA). It is about a dentist who asked whether it would be ethical to refer patients to other dentists for services that this particular dentist would normally do but wasn’t able to do so due to insurance fee caps and not being reimbursed for the services. Dr. David takes the patients’ welfare seriously first and foremost in his treatment. It can be found online at www.jada.ada.org.

Our Dr. David has been nominated and selected for Fellowship in the American College of Dentists (ACD), which is dedicated to “Advancing Excellence, Ethics, Professionalism, and Leadership in Dentistry”. Selection to Fellowship reflects Dr. David’s exceptional leadership, achievements, and involvement in the dental profession and in our community. It also recognizes his ability to offer new insights and directions for dentistry and oral health.
Since its founding in 1920, the ACD has been vital in identifying and responding to issues affecting dentistry, oral health, and society. Utilizing the knowledge and skills of its Fellows, the College is pursing initiatives to expand leadership in the dental profession and address the many challenges ahead. The mission of the College is to advance excellence, ethics, professionalism, and leadership in dentistry.
The team is very proud of Dr. David once again! He truly strives to give his best effort in helping patients achieve optimal oral health and being satisfied with their smile.

Announcement from Dr. McCarley and Team regarding the economic times:
Through the almost 30 years that Dr. McCarley and team have been in practice they have met and developed relationships with patients that have turned into some really good friendships. Through the years we have seen our economy ride a rollercoaster of highs and lows. We have been there when the interest rates rose and dropped and we rode that rollercoaster in the late 80’s when the bottom fell out. We know during these economic low times things are harder for people but we have to do diligence to tighten our belts, help others and ride this rollercoaster until times turn around again and they will turn around again. Some have lost jobs, homes, cars and we at McCarley Dental want to do our part to see that our patients and friends have every opportunity to maintain a healthy lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle not only includes your oral health but encompasses all aspects of your life.
For that reason we have made the first steps in offering a space on our McCarley Dental Facebook page (username: McCarley Dental) that will allow our friends to list services they may have to offer. If you have a trade or service, for instance if you are an electrician and would like to post your name and number or email address in case one of our friends on our site needs your services, Please email that information to our web monitor at web@mccarleydental.com and they will be happy to post the information.
It is our sincere hope that things turn around soon not for some but for all and that this section proves beneficial.

Dr. David and his favorite cow, Snow White! Taken at Dr. David and Lee Ann’s ranch out in Anna. Snow White was the first cow to be born at Toothachers Ranch and holds a special place in Dr. David’s heart. Dr. David was raised on a dairy farm in Blue Ridge and he used to get up at 3 am daily and milk the cows before heading to school.
Look at what one of our patients, Robert T., found outside his vacation cabin in Colorado! It’s a black bear. Robert says the bear is not aggressive, merely curious and drops by to see if there’s any food. Now, how would you like that outside your front door?

Congratulations to Dr. David!!! He has just been awarded the Distinguished Dentist of the Year for 2009 by the North Texas Dental Society (NTDS), for meritorious and enduring service on behalf of organized dentistry at the local, state, and national levels.
He was also recognized for dedicated service as a member of the NTDS Peer Review Committee for his years of dedicated service. Dr. David was awarded a United States of America flag along with a letter of commendation that was signed by Sam Johnson, US Congressman from Texas which was raised over the United States Capitol on July 4th, 2009 as part of the honor for being selected NTDS Dentist of the Year.
The North Texas Dental Society is the 5th largest component society of the 26 societies in the Texas Dental Association, which includes the counties of Collin, Cooke, Denton, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Kaufman, Rains, and Rockwall.
The team is very proud of Dr. David!!!
